Agricultural show organizers have the mandate to select specific venues

The government has dashed off fears by some citizens in the country who think that, as long as Dodoma is now declared the national capital city, therefore the traditional venue for the annual agricultural show ‘known as Nanenane’ which is used to take place there is likely to be relocated. The Prime Minister said last week in Parliament that, “in spite of being declared the national capital city, Dodoma will remain the main venue for the national Nane nane agricultural show which are held in annual basis”. The Premier was responding a question which was directed to him by the special seat legislator Mariam Kisanji (CCM) who wanted to know if there are any additional plans by the government to transfer the venue for the Nane nane agricultural show bearing in mind the fact that, the traditional place (Dodoma city) is planned for extensive development. The PM further noted that, the government had given the mandate organizers from the zonal authorities to arrange own venues and see how they can help farmers who comes with their products at the show venues.
