Zitto is disappointed over CCM’s interference with council’s decision

NEWS FROM THE PARLIAMENT:

The Kigoma North legislator from the opposition camp in parliament Zitto Zuberi Kabwe (ACT-Wazalendo) has queried the recent inference of the CCM party’s ideology and publicity secretary Humphrey Polepole of disengaging the legal decision passed by Ujiji Municipal Council in Kigoma town. Zitto has accused the well-known CCM cadre who apparently has suppressed the decision passed by Ujiji Municipal Council of increasing charges of levies which have been legally induced within its municipal jurisdiction.

The outspoken legislator said in Parliament that, the CMM carder had intervened the implementation of the newly introduced levies which had already been passed by the municipal councilors in their normal legal financial committee meetings saying that was illogical and contrary to local government’s ordinances. He noted that, CCM as a party has no the jurisdiction mandate of interfering with the local administration procedures aimed at developing the local people at the municipal levels in the country. The legislator directed his question to the ministry of local government and regional administration which is under the President’s office and demanded for the explanations or clarification. In responding to the question, the deputy minister responsible George Kakunda told Members of Parliament that, this is a new issue and that has not yet received any update report and in view of this, he has pledged to make a follow up to see the legality of the matter and work on it respectively.
