Children with disability to receive a sigh of relief
The government has promised to end all education related problems facing
children with disability and others in need of special needs in public schools
in the country, the deputy minister for education and Vocational Training William
Ole Nasha has said. The deputy minister assured Members of Parliament on
Monday this week that, there have been various problems facing
children with disabilities and those with special need such as lack of teaching
materials to make them understand lessons being taught. He was responding to
the question earlier raised by special seat Amina Mollel (CCM) who wanted to
know how the ministry of education is set to overcome various challenges facing
pupils and students with disabilities in the country.

He said, the government has set aside sum of
money to make easier for the teaching infrastructures to such unprivileged groups in the
country. In a supplementary question which was raised by Mohammed Amour
Mohammed who wanted to know to know efforts done by the ministry of education
in distributing its education curriculum to reach stakeholders in various parts
in the country. Responding to this question, the deputy minister noted that,
the ministry is doing all it can in order to maximize efforts into promoting its
education curriculum in the country. One effective way which the ministry has
embarked on as a step forward is to disseminate its information through the
ministry’s website which is accessed through by everybody free of charge. He
noted that, the updated information about the education curriculum are posted
into the ministry’s website and viewed by people in need. Contributing to the
discussion, the Minister for Education and Vocational Training Professor Joyce
Ndalichako said that, all educational curriculums in the country is being
prepared by all stakeholders from Zanzibar and Tanzania mainland who work in
close collaboration for the benefit of both sides.
