A member of parliament hails RC Makonda over teacher’s housing projects ENDS.

In unprecedented move a Member of Parliament for Nyang’hwale constituency Hussein Amar Kasu (CCM) has raised a point of congratulation in praise of the Regional Commissioner for Dar es Salaam Paul Makonda on the steps he is currently undertaking to ensure an efficient construction of teacher’s houses in his region. The legislator was contributing a point last week in parliament in support of his supplementary question which he directed to the ministry of local government and regional administration with a view to know why the government does not take necessary steps to ensure that it constructs teachers’ houses in various parts in the country.

The legislator requested the government to implement an initiative that would ensure an effective implementation of the housing projects by action the way RC Makonda does for his region especially when he formed a construction committee which stand for teachers’ houses in his region. Responding to the question, the deputy minister for Local Government and Regional Administration (TAMISEMI) Josephat Kandege said that, the government is set to embark on the housing program for teachers in the country in earnest but currently the government is settling accumulated debts which up to now the government has already paid Tshs. 35.1 bn/-. He said that, the government will continue improving the lives of teachers in the country as it had promised during the national campaigns.
