People affected by rains asked to report to district or regional authorities

As the heavy rains continue to wreck havoc in various places in the country, the government has called on the people who have been affected so far to channel their grievances through district and regional authorities in order to receive help. The Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa said last week in Parliament that, his office through the disaster management unit will react promptly upon receiving the correct and up-to-date information which shall be submitted to them as related with any loses incurred. The PM was responding to a direct question by Kaliua legislator on CUF ticket Hon. Magdalane Sakaya who wanted to know what special attention has the government issued so far to help people who have been ravaged by the ongoing rains in the country. The PM has directed security committees at district and regional levels to list down after thorough check up of the people who have been affected so far by rains. After that, the report should be submitted to his office through the Minister of State for further scrutiny so as to allow any action be taken immediately.
