NHC officials warned not to molest retired servants

Officials of the National Housing Corporation (NHC) have been warned against molesting retired government servants who stays in their houses by denying them rights of purchasing such houses as in accordance with the law.  Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa said in parliament last week and directed officials of a sole national housing corporation to sit on the table with the association of house tenants and discuss the fate of the retired servants who have no money to build structures. The PM was responding to a question earlier directed to him by Ilala legislator Hon. Mussa Azan Zungu (CCM) who wanted to know steps taken by the government in order to help retired public servants who have hired NHC houses in various quarters in his constituency. The legislator disclosed that, some NHC workers have a tendency of publicly ridiculing the retired servants by saying that are financially able to afford the rent.
