Government cautions too much eating is dangerous

Deputy Minister for Health and Social Services Dr. Seif Rashid yesterday told Parliament that, over excessive eating and drinking of sugary juicy contents, such foods are the main cause of the obesity, a case which has been affecting many people in the country. Either Dr. Seif noted that, excessive alcoholic drinks as well as the consumption of tobacco products coupled by lack of practicing regular body exercises, all these are the cause of non-infectious diseases affecting mostly body organs, lungs and dental defections. Poor observance of the doctor’s directives to maintain good health results into the heart complications, blood pressure, cancer, diabetes and chronic airborne diseases which today are the most dangerous diseases affecting mankind.   The deputy minister was responding to Dr. Maua Daftari (special seat CCM) who wanted to know the side effects resulted out of the obesity, a situation which attacks many people, and dental problems which occurs to people who are fond of eating sweets, citing example to Members of Parliament during the parliamentary debating sessions.

The legislator also wanted to know what possible steps that government should take as extra means in order to prevent the MPs and other people from being affected, and if possible refrain from consuming such products. Dr. Seif noted that if people with obesity could not control their health status by following the doctors’ advices, would continue suffering as eating such food contents accelerates the rate of infections in their bodies. “By eating such foods there is a possibility of the increased disease complications resulting into the failure of pancreas to regulate the amount of sugar content in the body, thus resulting into diabetic diseases, failure of kidneys to perform as required also causes blood pressure. Dr. Seif who is a physician by profession, has cautioned those with the habit of consuming such food contents to refrain or reduce as they are dangerous which can harm somebody’s heath and sometimes might result into death.
