Private sober houses in the country spurs uncertainty in the country


The government has appointed an accusing finger to owners of the private sober centres located in various places in the country for allowing the illicit drug addicts to continue using drugs instead of enlightening them the negative impacts caused on their lives to abide by the purpose for which the centres were established. The Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office responsible for Policy, Parliamentary Affairs, Labour, Employment, Youth and Disabled Hon. Jenista Mhagama has said. The minister informed the August House currently in its budget session in Dodoma that, as the government was taking serious initiatives to help illicit drug addicts who have chronic to change out their mindset in its sober centres, private sober centres tend to aggravates the move. She said that, there are some private registered sober centres in the country which do not take serious initiates towards helping the affected youths and instead do keep them using the drugs. However, the minister has cautioned and gave a directive that whoever will be found live perpetrating the move instead of helping to reduce the menace, them strict legal measures will be taken against them. The Minister was answering a supplementary question which was raised by a legislator Hon. Halima Abdallah who wanted to know steps taken by the government to curb with rumours spread around that in private sober centres the situation of the affected drug addicts is so dangerous.,
