Govt intends to look for another investor to ease DART operations in Dar city


The government has set to advertise tender to look for another strategic and a reliable investing company with a view to ease the Dar Rapid Transit (DART), a bus-based mass transit system connecting the suburbs of Dar Es Salaam to the central business district. The project which began its operations on May 10th, 2016 has been overwhelmed by the number of daily passengers who increases now and then and thus making the modern city operation become difficulty coupled by the infrastructural impediments which occurs during heavy rains. 



The Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa said today in parliament when answering impromptu questions directed to him by Kinondoni legislator Said Mtulia (CCM). The legislator wanted to know plans by the government to ward off the transportation hurdles facing the DART operational move during rainy season. Responding to the question, the premier noted that the aim of the government of looking for another investor is to let the entire operation is done in a competitive spirit so as to help commuters who plies through its designated routes. He said that, the government is working on various internal problems facing the project
