Ndugai dismisses Kubenea’s idea of Bakwata in the house

PRIME MINISTER HON: KASSIM MAJALIWA RESPONDING IMPROMPTU QUESTIONS IN PARLIAMENT LAST WEEK IN DODOMA

Prime Minister Hon. Kassim Majaliwa

In unprecedented move, the speaker of National Assembly Job Ndugai has dismissed and declared as baseless a  question which was intended to be directed to the Prime Minister by Ubungo legislator Saed Kubenea (Chadema) in parliament last week saying that it had a religious affiliations in it. An abrupt intervention of the speaker had prevented Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa from answering the question directed to him by the outspoken legislator from the opposition camp and remained speechless for a while. “Why is it that Mr. Kubenea you are fond of asking questions which are related with religious affiliations”,  the speaker asked him and after which he immediately gave a chance to another legislator and embarked on another question.

Earlier Kubenea wanted to know from the Prime Minister why is it that during the time for Hija in Mecca the National Muslim Council (BAKWATA) is given a monopoly to arrange trips of people going for this holy visit in Mecca and not other organizations. Before the PM answered his question, Ndugai intervened by asking Kubenea who in turn showed his interests in it. “Mr. Speaker I am a Muslim believer and very much interested to know how preparations are made to accomplish this important Muslim pillar”, Kubenea said.
