JK appoints Cheyo commissioner for budget in Finance ministry



PRESIDENT Jakaya Kikwete has appointed John Memose Cheyo, an opposition Member of Parliament for Bariadi East constituency (UDP) to be a member of the executive committee for the Property and Business Formalization Programme, known in Kiswahili acronym MKURABITA. He will head the Ministry of Finance as the Commissioner of budget with effect from July 1st this year, a State House statement issued yesterday in Dar es Salaam by the Assistant Press Secretary to the President Premi Kibanga has said. According to the statement, earlier President Kikwete appointed Captain John Z. Chiligati, an MP for Manyoni East constituency to be the Chairman of the executive committee of the programme for the next three years effective from July 1st this year. In line with Chiligati’s appointment, the Minister of State in President’s Office in-charge of Policy, Coordination and Parliamentary Affairs, William Lukuvi appointed other 11 members including an opposition Bariadi East MP John Cheyo with powers conferred to him by the President.

Other 10 committee members appointed with their ministry’s representations in brackets are, Ms. Ened Munthali who stands for policy coordination (President’s office), John Nayopa, Deputy Commissioner ( Energy and Minerals ministry) and Dr. Consolata D. Ishebabi, Director of Small Medium Enterprises (Ministry of Trade and Industries), Others are Professor Aldo M. Lupala, Director of Publishing and Printing Centre-(Ardhi University), Gasper Luanda, Deputy Commissioner of Land in Southern zone (Mimnistry of Land, and Human Settlement) and Ms. Barke Mbaraka Aboud, Deputy Commissioner for Contracts (Attorney General office). Others are Jeremia Sendoro, Director of policy in Prime Minister’s office (Ministry of Local Government and Regional Administration), Parkshard Mkongwa, Director of Policy and Planning (Prime Minister’s Office),  Salhina Mwita Ameir, Directorr of Planning,policy and Research (Ministry of Land, Human Settlement, Water and Energy of the Zanzibar Revolutionary government), and Mwita Mgeni Mwita, Commissioner for budget (Ministry of Finance of the Zanzibar Revolutionary government)
