The Director of Studies at the Institute of Social Work Dr. Andrew Mchonvu breaking the news of closing up the school in a public gathering at the main campus later that evening. For long there had been a misunderstanding between lecturers and the management at the institute since 2007. According to lecturers, they were not given promotions and other fringe benefits as per the regulations and rules of government scheme of service.
