Govt is determined to promote vocational training education
The government has reiterated its commitment to
continue providing quality education in its registered vocational training
centres which have been established in various parts in the country. The deputy
minister of Education and Vocational Training William Ole Nasha said in parliament
that, about Tshs. 10 bn/- has been set aside in this year’s financial of 2018/19 to renovate 30 centres so as
should they continue providing quality training courses in the country. The
deputy minister was responding to the supplementary question which was raised
by Urambo legislator, former Education Minister Margret Sitta (CCM) who wanted to
know plans by the government to admit ex-form four students who have nowhere to
go after completing their ordinary level education in the country to undergo
vocational training courses. The deputy minister further clarified that, the government
has put in place its strategic plans of promoting quality vocational education trainings
so as to prepare youths for their own self employment. Earlier, the Mlimba legislator
Suzan Kiwanga (Chadema) had raised a question which was directed to the
ministry of education with a view to know why the ministry does not issue
certificates to graduates who completes vocational training courses immediately
an aspect which according to her is the denial of rights of students from poor
families. Responding tin this, the deputy minister who had agreed with the fact
noted that, the government has instituted a plan to accomplish each course by
stages and has promised to issue all certificates upon completion of the whole
courses.
