A fertilizer industry to be built in Dar es Salaam

PEOPLE at the highly congested markets operating within the city of Dar es Salaam who have long been disturbed by the bad smell emanating from the stinking rubbish that stays for long without collection, will now have a relief following plans by the Dar es Salaam city Council to build a fertilizer industry. The industry will receive market residuals as raw materials which in turn will be processed and procured into a final product of agro-chemical fertilizer for use of growing crops. According to the Deputy mayor of the city of Dar es Salaam Mr. Ahamed Mwilima, the construction of a State-of-the-art fertilizer industry will be done at Pugu-Kinyamwezi on the outskirts of the Dar es Salaam city. The detailing of the project is still in plan and will be run by the Dar es Salaam city council for all the three districts of Ilala, Temeke and Kinondoni. Once the plans are ready, the construction of the project would start soon.

I wonder if the proposed technology has anything in common with the PROM technology (PROM = phosphate-rich organic manure) used at the community level in India?
