Government promises to pay compensation to road victims

Citizens whose structures have been earmarked with X marks awaiting to be compensated with a view to pave the way for the construction of tarmac roads in various places in the country, should continue waiting for the dues and shouldn’t get despaired at all. The call by the government has come following claims by people in various parts in the country that have stayed longer without developing their structures after the evaluation was done on their structures and unfortunately have not yet been paid despite several promises. The deputy minister for works, Transport and Communications Elias Kwandikwa (CCM) made a clarification in the parliament today when answering a question during questions and answer session. The deputy minister was responding to a supplementary question which was raised by Dr. Pundenciana Wilfred Kikwembe (CCM) who wanted to know why it takes time for the victims to be compensated on time as the laid down regulations. He said people should not worry as long as their houses have been earmarked, then the government is in process of preparing their compensation  dues no matter how long it might take, and this will depend on the availability of money allocated for a particular project in pipeline.
