Shinyanga residents adviosed to reserve their foof stuff

Shinyanga residents have been called upon to reserve their foodstuff at this time when drought is prevailing due to lack of rains at this time when the government is planning to evaluate means of getting them a relief food. This is because of the fact that, rains have stopped from raining for long time in Shinyanga region, an aspect that has caused a number of cereal crops to wither in various farms. The regional CCM Chairman of Shinyanga, Khamisi Mgeja made a concern on the last day of his party visit in the region in Mwamakazanga village in Kishapu district. He said during his tour he witnessed a number of crops which have withered in the farm an aspect that is likely to be a looming famine in the region. In view of this, he has however asked the people in the region to preserve food of the past harvesting season. “Farmers have tried their level best to cultivate food crops but due to the changing weather conditions are less likely to get good yields, and moreover cotton among the most valuable cash crop also has withered, and also sun flower and this is a great threat and indicator to famine”, he said. The CCM Chairman also used the opportunity and called on livestock keepers to sell their livestock and buy food and preserve at their home made food reservoirs so as to curb with any possible famine as when the situation become serious, their livestock may also die of hunger because of drought.  The District Commissioner for Kishapu district Wilson Nkhambaku said in a meeting that he told the CCM regional chairman to be ready as he had sent a report to the disaster commission whose representatives are moving along in every corner in the district to carry out an evaluation so that people could be given a relief food. “In actual fact as the chairman has said, the situation is not good at all and especially at Kishapu district where crops have gone dry due to persistent sunshine and that he is committed to ensure that every citizen in the district will die of hunger” the DC Nkhambaku noted. Meanwhile, Alcoholic use for children and pregnant mothers is dangerous for their health for it causes brain disorder that slows down the ability of thinking to children, an aspect that is dangerous for their health and the social welfare. The concern was made on Wednesday this week by the Manager of Tanzania Breweries Limited (TBL) located in Mbeya city, Waziri Jemedari when contributing a point to journalists who visited the factory with a view to know how the alcoholic drinks is being processed and supplied by the company alongside to participate in the drinking competition forum, Jemedari said that, although the TBL has become the leading supplier and producer of the alcoholic drinks in the country, it strictly prohibits children and pregnant mothers to involve in the drinking of thekr products bearing the fact that is harmful to their life. “We as main producers of alcoholic drinks, we do not allow children and pregnant women to use our products because we know the possibility for them to be affected is great, and in view of this we are not ready to promote such types of group them to use our products”, he said. He said that alcohol is a good drink that is recommended for adults only and people above 18 years if they use is in a more good manner and not excessively. However, he said that TBL company is producing other drinks which are none alcoholic which can be used by children and pregnant mothers as well and don’t become so harmful in any way. He mentioned some of these products as gland malt and Safari water which are none alcoholic and these can be used by people of all walks of life without any problem  In that tour, journalists got the opportunity to walk around the factory to see various activities that are talking place within the factory, alongside having questions asked to the management for clarifications on anything that seemed to look so strange to them. Some journalists wanted to know why some of the customers have the habit of choosing the types of bottles used for a particular drink when believing that have the same taste or not. Responding o such questions, Jemedari noted that, the process of making a drink is the same and involves one channel line and all bottles are filled up with the same contents, and therefore there is no any difference emanating from the types of bottles and the drinks as they are all the same. Journalists also participated in then competition of tasting beer whereby channel 10 journalist Saada Matiku became the winner, followed by Kenneth Ngelesi of Tanzania Dainma newspaper who scored the second position, and the third position was scored by Melali Chawe of Habari Leo. They were all rewarded with different prizes including one carton of the beer.
